Estímulo hand picks its Malbec grapes when their concentrated, somewhat spicy, flavors are at their peak, and handles the chilled clusters with utmost gentleness to avoid forced tannin extraction and the consequent risk of harshness in the finished wine. To promote the expression of pure varietal flavor, Estímulo also avoids oak-barrel aging. The resulting wine is smooth, nuanced, and bright, with a structure reminiscent of Merlot. Luscious black cherry and currant flavors, and intriguing notes of peppery spice, are supported by gentle tannins and last through a satisfyingly long finish.
