In the new Chilean classification by terroir, the vineyard around the old bodega in Angostura is classified as terroir under the influence of the Andes, so as ‘Gran Terroir de los Andes’. These are the warmer terroirs, with the Andes providing cooling during the day as a wind blows from the mountains. This 35 year old vineyard with chardonnay takes full advantage of this. The climate here produces a beautiful intense and powerful style of chardonnay, in the modern, international style of today, with the accent on the fruit, and some subtle wood.
